GUWAHATI: Shillong Lajong FC secured their place in the semi-finals of the OIL Gold Cup with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sudeva FC, Delhi, in the first quarter-final at Duliajan on Saturday.
Kenstar Kharshong scored the decisive goal in the 25th minute to give Lajong the lead. Sudeva FC pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but the Shillong-based side’s defence remained organised and held firm to preserve their advantage until the final whistle.
