Opener Saurav Mousum Dihingia produced a composed unbeaten half-century as Barpeta Braves defeated Dibrugarh Warriors by five wickets and storminto the final of the Assam Premier League at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Friday.
Chasing 135 for victory, Barpeta were made to work hard before reaching 137/5 in 19.1 overs. Saurav carried his bat with an unbeaten 63 off 53 balls, hitting six fours and a six, to anchor the chase. He found an able partner in Abhilash Maurya, who struck 37 off 29 deliveries, including three fours and a six, as the duo added 74 runs for the fifth wicket to put Barpeta in control.
Earlier, Dibrugarh posted 134/7 after being asked to bat first. Ayush Agarwal provided the impetus with an unbeaten 45 off 29 balls, including two fours and three sixes, while Diwiz Pathak contributed 27 off 17 deliveries and Nasir Ullah scored 26 off 20.
