NE Zone shooting championship from Aug 25

GUWAHATI : The Kahilipara Sports Shooting Range is set to host the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championship from August 25, with nearly 300 shooters expected to compete over six days.
The championship will bring together shooters from across the Northeast, with teams representing Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. The Army Marksmanship Unit and Assam Rifles Marksmanship Unit will also be part of the competition.
Assam Rifle and Shooting Association president Diganta Borah shared the details at a media briefing at the Gauhati Press Club on Friday. He said: “The event will cater to a wide range of participants, from Sub-Junior and Senior shooters to Masters and Para athletes. A total of nine events will be contested, covering air pistol and rifle, various pistol disciplines, rifle events and Trap Shooting.”
The events include 10m Air Pistol, 10m Air Rifle, 25m Sports Pistol, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Centre Fire Pistol, 50m Three-Position Peep Sight Rifle, 50m Prone Rifle, 50m Free Pistol and Trap Shooting.
Vice-president of Assam Shooting and Rifle Association Krishnanjan Chanda and general secretary Bhaba Kalita were also present in the media briefing.
