Guwahati: Sporting Club Delhi stormed into the semifinals of the OIL Gold Cup after defeating NorthEast United FC 3–1 in their quarterfinal encounter at Duliajan on Tuesday.
Sporting Club Delhi took the lead in the 14th minute through Rodrigo Araujo and they added two more goals shortly after the restart. In the 46th minute Rodrigo Araujo increased the margin scoring his second goal and 49th minute Joseph Sunny found the back of the net.
NorthEast United FC pulled one back through Atheendran K.P. in stoppage time, but Sporting Club Delhi held on comfortably to secure a convincing 3–1 victory and book their place in the last four.
