GUWAHATI: Assam weightlifter Parishmita Gogoi brought glory to the country by winning a gold medal at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent on Friday.
Competing in the girls' 45kg Youth category, Parishmita clinched the gold medal in the snatch event with a best lift of 65kg. She, however, finished fourth overall with a combined total of 141kg, comprising 65kg in the snatch and 76kg in the clean and jerk.
