GUWAHATI,: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma felicitated internationally acclaimed boxer Lovlina Borgohain at Lok Sewa Bhawan for winning the silver medal in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In recognition of her achievement, Sarma presented Lovlina with a cheque of Rs 30 lakh on behalf of the State Government and lauded her determination and contribution to Indian boxing. He said her success was a matter of immense pride for Assam and would inspire the state’s youth to pursue excellence in sports.
As a memento, Lovlina presented two Indian team jerseys to the Chief Minister. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Biswajit Daimari and senior officials of the Sports Department were also present in the function.
