Assam Para team leave on Saturday
Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Dec 8: Assam will send a five-member team in the forthcoming Khelo India Para Games which will begin in Delhi on Sunday. The team will depart on Saturday.
A send-off function for the team was organized at the Regional SAI Centre in the city today which was attended by all the participants. Addressing the gathering the Executive Director of the SAI Regional Centre Satyajit Sankrit advised the athletes to give their best in the competition and brought laurels for the State.
Among others present on this occasion were president and the secretary of the Paralympic Association of Assam Chandan Barua and Rajib Dey. Speaking on the occasion Rajib Dey, who is also the Chef de Mission of the Assam contingent for the Khelo India para Games, 2023 said that the Para Games will provide many new opportunities to the Para athletes.
The Assam Contingent: Ajibar Ali (Para Athletics) , Chiranjeeta Bharali(Para Athletics & Para badminton), Akhiram Daig (Para Athletics), Ababil Ali (Para Athletics), and Anushmita Konwar (Para Athletics).
