APL: Player auction scheduled for July 19

Online staff/ GUWAHATI, June 30: Preparations for the inaugural Assam Premier League (APL) gathered pace with the players' auction is scheduled to be held in Guwahati on July 19.
Close to 4,000 cricketers had registered for the State's maiden franchise-based T20 league. After the completion of the scrutiny process, a sizeable pool of players has been shortlisted for the auction, where each of the eight franchises will assemble a 20-member squad.
The tournament, the first franchise-based T20 competition to be organised by the ACA, will be played from August 1 to 21 at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara. The league is expected to provide a platform for talented cricketers from different parts of Assam to showcase their skills.
The eight franchises taking part in the inaugural edition are Guwahati Royals, Jorhat Stallions, Tezpur Titans, Dibrugarh Warriors, Nagaon Rangers, Barpeta Braves, Charaideo Sunrisers and Barak Legends.
