India and New Zealand to arrive on Saturday
GUWAHATI, Jan 23: Guwahati is gearing up to host a high-profile international fixture as India and New Zealand lock horns in the third match of the ongoing T20I series at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, on Sunday.
Both teams are scheduled to arrive in the city on Saturday afternoon. According to sources in the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), the Indian and New Zealand squads will land at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 5:05 PM via chartered flight.
While New Zealand have previously played One Day Internationals in Guwahati, Sunday’s encounter will mark the team’s first-ever T20 International appearance in the city, adding further significance to the match.
The ACA has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the game, with special focus on logistics, world-class facilities, and a seamless experience for players, match officials, broadcasters, and spectators.
Emphasising safety and spectator comfort, the ACA has announced strict security measures. Fans will not be permitted to carry metal cans, glass bottles, large flag poles, weapons or explosives, as well as noise-making devices such as whistles, horns, vuvuzelas, and megaphones inside the stadium.
A packed house is expected, with most tickets for the match already sold out. Stadium gates will open at 4:00 PM on match day, while the much-anticipated contest will get underway at 7:00 PM.
