Assam and Nagaland played 3-3 draw

Online Staff/Guwahati, Jan 23: Nagaland and Assam played out a thrilling 3–3 draw in a high-voltage Santosh Trophy Group A clash at the Dhakuakhana Football Stadium on Friday.
Nagaland took the lead in the 26th minute through Laiwang Bohman, but Assam hit back when Didwm Hazowary found the equaliser in the 38th minute, leaving the teams level at the break. The lead changed hands again in the second half as Ayenmongba restored Nagaland’s advantage in the 54th minute. Assam responded swiftly, with Akrang Narzary making it 2–2 in the 62nd minute.
Assam looked set for victory when Timothi Narzary put them ahead in the 76th minute. However, Nagaland refused to concede defeat, as Ato Chophi struck in the 82nd minute to ensure the contest ended all square.
Both sides opened their account in Group A with a point each, having lost their opening fixtures—Nagaland going down 0–4 to West Bengal, while Assam suffered a narrow 0–1 defeat against Tamil Nadu.
In the other matches of the day, Rajasthan and defending champions West Bengal registered victories by identical margin. Rajasthan edged past Tamil Nadu 1–0 at Silapathar, while West Bengal secured a similar 1–0 win over Uttarakhand at Dhakuakhana.
