ASEBSC secure last-minute victory over SAISC
Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Dec 4: ASEBSC claimed a thrilling 2-1 win over SAISC in the Guwahati Premier League football at Judges Field on Wednesday. Both teams delivered an enthralling contest, leaving fans entertained till the very end.
The game saw an intense battle with both sides creating numerous chances. ASEBSC, yet to earn a point in the tournament before this game, looked determined from the start, while SAISC displayed resilience and flair, keeping the match alive until the dying moments.
ASEBSC created several scoring chances in the first half, but SAISC goalkeeper Rohan Prasad was outstanding, making multiple diving saves and keeping his team in the game. ASEBSC also hit the woodwork twice, adding to their frustration. SAISC too launched several counterattacks. However, their luck ran out as two of their attempts hit the crossbar.
ASEBSC finally opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Rohan Brahma capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot the ball into the net. SAISC pulled level in the 73rd minute with a powerful strike from Debojit Konwar, setting up a thrilling finish. In added time, Sanswarang Basumatary emerged as ASEBSC's hero, scoring the decisive goal to secure the team's first victory in the competition.
In the day’s earlier fixture, FC Green Valley edged past Chirangduar FC with another 2-1 scoreline.
Nimraiyo Masangva scored early to give Green Valley the lead. James T Collin doubled the advantage in the 48 th minute. Chirangduar returned one through Nicodim Narjary in the 41st minute.
