ACA honours cricketers at Annual Awards

Online Staff/ GUWAHATI, August 14: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) celebrated the achievements of the state's cricketers during its Annual Awards Ceremony held at the ACA Stadium Complex on Wednesday. The event saw a total prize distribution of Rs 71 lakh to 38 outstanding cricketers for their exceptional performances during the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons.
As part of the celebrations, ACA also felicitated the winners and runners-up of the Assam Premier Club Championship (APCC) for both years. The APCC champions received Rs 10 lakh each, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 5 lakh.
The ceremony was graced by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included ACA President Taranga Gogoi, Secretary Tridib Konwar, Vice President Rajdeep Oja, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa, and several senior ACA officials.
In his address, Devajit Saikia praised the discipline and dedication shown by the players and acknowledged the crucial role played by coaches in shaping Assam’s cricketing progress. He reaffirmed the BCCI’s commitment to developing grassroots infrastructure in Assam and the Northeast, ensuring emerging players receive world-class exposure and opportunities.
ACA President Taranga Gogoi extended his congratulations to all the award winners and reiterated the association’s commitment to enhancing cricketing standards in the state. He emphasized ACA's continued efforts to provide top-tier facilities and opportunities for Assam’s cricketers.
