Gorlosa inaugurates Eastern Slam squash

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Nov 8: The Eastern Slam International Squash Championship 2025 got off to a vibrant start in Guwahati on Saturday. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Assam Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Nandita Gorlosa.
In her inaugural address, Gorlosa emphasized the need to promote squash across the state, particularly in rural areas, to nurture young talent and broaden the sport’s reach.
The opening ceremony was attended by Assam Squash Rackets Association president Shiladitya Dev, chairman of the organising committee Prasanta Protim Kathkotia, and several other dignitaries.
The championship has drawn an impressive field of nearly 400 players and officials, including a few international participants, setting the stage for an exciting week of top-quality squash action in the city.
